Co-eic

i-candy is looking for a co-editor in chief to work alongside our founder! the co-eic will drive the production of our bi-annual print issues, managing and overseeing the staff across our editorial, design, fashion, and marketing teams, ensuring that production timeline goals are met, and crafting the ultimate vision for each issue. we’re looking for someone with strong time management skills, and an ability to bring a particular vision to life. we want someone with great writing and editorial experience who will be able to confidently lead the team in putting together the strongest i-candy issues <3

design director

i-candy is looking for a design director to lead the visual side of our editorial team! you will work alongside i-candy co-eics and the rest of the design team to ensure our production timeline is met for the print issues, and that each page reflects our i-candy branding, while still aligning with the content of the submission itself. the design director will guide our print aesthetic, working alongside the marketing team to ensure there is a seamless transition between our social and print worlds. you will oversee the layout designers, while also working with the photo coordinators as shoots happen throughout the season.

editorial supervisor

i-candy is looking for an editorial supervisor to lead the print side of our team! you will work alongside i-candy co-eics and the rest of the editorial team to ensure our production timeline is met for the print issues, and that each page reflects the best possible written pieces, with everything reviewed, edited, and finalized prior to the print deadline. we are looking for someone with confidence in their leadership skills, and strong writing abilities that can ensure each written piece in our zine is as quality as possible before we go to print! you will oversee the staff writers, the readers, editors, and editorial intern.

Graphic Designer

i-candy is looking for graphic designers to put together visually beautiful “eye candy” ;) for our social media channels. we are looking for someone who understands our carefully crafted branding, and will be able to convey it to our audience via ultra sweet, engaging content across our different pages (primarily instagram, youtube, and tiktok). the graphic designers will work with our marketing team, putting together content each week. it would also be lovely if you have illustration abilities!

Content creator

our content creators will act as a familiar face for our audience across the i-candy social channels including instagram, tiktok, and youtube. they will be responsible for ideating and executing short and long form video content in line with our i-candy areas of focus, and reflective of their own interests and hobbies. they will work alongside the rest of our marketing team to ensure that our social media voice aligns with our editorial mission and larger i-candy vision.

video editor

our video editor will support the marketing director and executive board in editing various long and short form videos, as well as ideating, filming, and executing videos of their own for our social media channels (including instagram, tiktok, and youtube). they will ensure videos align with and reinforce our branding goals and excite our i-candy community.

marketing intern

i-candy is looking for an intern to work alongside our marketing team! the marketing intern will research new areas of focus for us, identify new ways for us to connect with our i-candy audience, work alongside our events coordinator on putting together high quality activations for our community, and drive social content ideation along with other marketing strategies.

layout designer

our layout designers play a crucial part in crafting the ultimate visual look of each i-candy issue, and ensuring it aligns with our outlined branding and goals for each season. they will work with our design supervisor to craft visually stunning (& very sweet!) layouts to go with each submission we receive for our bi-annual print issues. we are looking for individuals confident in their design skills, and looking to gain experience in the indie print media world.

photo coordinator (SD & LA)

i-candy is looking for one LA and one SD-based photo coordinator to work with our visual department. photo coordinators will work alongside the i-candy founder, co-eic and stylists in building visual concepts for photo shoots, organizing cast and crew, sourcing locations and managing team communications. photo coordinators may also have the opportunity to shoot as photographers themselves, and will be in charge of providing feedback and edits on any photo submissions for our i-candy print issues.

reader

readers for i-candy zine are tasked with reviewing all assigned prose and poetry submissions for our i-candy print issue and provide detailed feedback, suggestions, and critiques before contributors make final adjustments and the pieces are then sent to our editors. you will work with the editorial supervisor.

editors for i-candy zine are tasked with making direct edits and adjustments to the pieces once readers have provided their initial feedback, and contributors have made their final changes. they are responsible for making clear and concise edits that better each written piece for the print and blog submissions. you will work with the editorial supervisor, founder, and co-eic.

staff / blog writeR

staff writers are responsible for pitching, drafting, and publishing at least one non-fiction piece each week for ‘chew on this',’ the i-candy blog. they will also be sent to any relevant press / media opportunities to secure interviews on behalf of i-candy, identifying juicy angles for our readers that align with both our issue themes, and larger i-candy mission and focus. <3 similar to our content creators, we also love when writers have a niche of their own!

editorial intern

our editorial intern will assist with i-candy zine’s editorial department, and the review of our submissions for print. the intern will work alongside our larger editorial team as they review and edit all print and blog pieces submitted to i-candy.

videographer

love being behind a camera? we are looking for both LA and SD based videographers who can be available for capturing behind the scenes on our photoshoots, at events, and for relevant press and media opportunities. it would also be great if you have video editing skills to support our marketing team and video editor!

stylists (SD & LA)

stylists will work with our founder, co-eic, and photo coordinators to craft and lead the visual fashion aesthetic for our i-candy photoshoots each season. we are looking to hire one stylist in SD and one in LA. the primary responsibility throughout the season will be to work alongside the marketing team and fashion interns in crafting the most beautiful i-candy looksss <3, and ofc making sure our models are comfortable, safe, and taken care of on set! stylists will also have a hand in casting models for shoots, and some creative direction support.

fashion intern (SD & LA)

passion for fashion? the i-candy fashion intern will assist the founder, co-eic, photo coordinator, and stylists in building the aesthetic for our i-candy photoshoots each season. we are looking to hire one intern in SD and one in LA. fashion interns' main responsibility throughout the season will be to assist our stylists on set in crafting the sweetest of looks, and making sure our models are comfortable, safe, and taken care of! you may also have the opportunity to support in casting, and some creative direction.

Brand Partnerships Coordinator

the brand partnerships coordinator will lead outreach to relevant brands and organizations on behalf of i-candy, seeking and building relationships that are mutually beneficial. they will manage and track all ongoing partnerships, sponsorships, collaborations, and similar. this position requires strategic planning and research, and constant communication with the co-eic, marketing team, and founder. You will also be tasked with crafting sponsorship / partnership decks amidst conversations with brands.. i-candy is looking for someone with a strong understanding of our mission and audience, with experience navigating conversations between brand partners, and looking to broaden and strengthen their network alongside the zine’s.

event coordinator

our i-candy event coordinator will be in charge of directing and managing all event production logistics alongside our founder and co-eic. they will ensure timelines are met, venues are contacted and secured, sponsors and food / drink vendors are identified, and that the overall experience and feel of each i-candy event is of the highest quality. :) they will also guide the themes alongside our marketing team, strategizing on event promotion and logistics of any ticket sales.
